Ireland's Magazine Publisher of the Year, Dyflin Publications Ltd, is winning the battle against spam and viruses with an investment in state of the art technology.

The Irish-owned publisher of award winning magazines including House and Home, Confetti, Prudence and Shop Talk employs 40 people in its Dublin offices.

"We were being hit by thousands of spam and hundreds of viruses each week, putting our systems in danger and needed a solution that would fit seamlessly into our existing infrastructure and also work effectively against this problem", says Karen Hesse, Joint Managing Director of Dyflin Publications

Dyflin Publications chose Integrity Solutions to strengthen the company's defences against attack on their email, safeguard against viruses and eliminate spam.

Dyflin Publications has a diverse group of users, journalists, advertising personnel and administration personnel working from the office and across a wide range of locations and on many publications. They need to be able to implement different policies regarding the identification and management of spam down to the user level. "As a media organization we have a critical reliance on email as a communication's tool," says Hesse.

Dyflin's Security Partner, Integrity Solutions recommended and installed a solution that would ensure that all Dyflin's spam and anti-virus updates were fully automated and all administration is carried out via an easy-to-use web interface which keep administrative overheads to a minimum. The solution is based on Copperfasten's Mail Firewall Appliance (MFA), Kaspersky software and F-secure on the Microsoft Exchange Server.

This powerful solution eliminates unsolicited emails (Spam) and eradicates email-borne viruses. The solution has been specifically developed to provide comprehensive protection from all types of malicious programmes for personal computers running under the Windows operating system. This solution prevents the infiltration of viruses, worms, spyware, adware and other malicious programmes via potential penetration paths and provides protection against unauthorized access attempts. The F-Secure Anti-Virus component of the solution protects Microsoft Exchange users from viruses, worms and Trojans, scanning both incoming and outgoing messages and scanning is done on the email server in real-time.
