Integrity Solutions sponsors up and coming Irish athlete

Claire Bergin, an Irish athlete from Dublin, will be sponsored by Integrity Solutions as she competes to represent Ireland in this year’s European Athletics Championship.

Claire is an accomplished sprinter and has ranked in the top 10 in the 60m (Indoors), 100m, 200m and 400m in Ireland to date. She has medaled in the 400m in both the indoor and outdoor championships, going on to represent Ireland in the 4x400m relay in the European Indoor Championships and the World Student games, finishing 4th in both respective championships. In the World Student games Claire also progressed to the semi finals in the individual, an excellent achievement for a young Irish athlete.

After a two year break from competing, Claire returned to athletics in 2008 and at the same time decided to try out a new sport - Bobsleighing. With a background in sprinting Claire took to the sport as a breakwoman and went on to represent Ireland in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The two-woman team finished an impressive 17th in the competition overall, improving the teams International rankings.

“I’m delighted to be represented by Integrity Solutions this year" said Bergin. "Sponsorship of individuals isn’t something that is common in this sport but something that is greatly welcomed. Integrity has been extremely generous to me and their support will go a long way in helping me with this year’s training and competitions.”

Speaking about the sponsorship deal, Eoin Goulding, managing director at Integrity Solutions said that Integrity ‘couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help such a talented athlete in any way possible’. “It’s amazing the amount of time, dedication and effort athletes put in to the sport at this competitive level and even more amazing how little they get back in return for it. We wish Claire every success in this year’s competitions.”

Claire is currently in training for the qualifying stages of the European Athletics Championship which will take place in Barcelona from the 27th of July this year.
